Dr. Yang Huigen Director General

Dr. YangHuigen, born in Jiangsu in 1965, graduated from Wuhan University.Dr. Yang is a member of the Communist Party of China. In July 1992, he started his career and engaged in atmospheric physics research in the polar region. He published more than 30 papers in core journals. In 2003, he was hired as a doctoral tutor by Wuhan University. He has served as an assistant researcher, associate researcher, deputy director, and deputy director of PRIC, working as the first stationmaster of the Chinese Arctic Yellow River Station, the leader and chief scientist of the 25th Antarctic expedition in China and the 5th North Pole of China. He won the honorary title of outstanding young people of the State Oceanic Administration, the honorary title of national outstanding scientific and technological workers, the special allowance of the State Council, the outstanding achievements of returned students, the Youth Science and Technology Award (Fu Chengyi Award), 2 times of the first prize of marine innovation achievements, the second prize of national marine innovation achievements, and the first class award.

 

He is currently the director general and researcher of PRIC, the deputy director of the Space Physics Committee of the Chinese Academy of Space Sciences, the Chinese representative of the Scientific Committee of the Antarctic Research (SCAR), the member of the China Committee of the International Association of Science and Technology (ICSU), and the 14th National People's Congress of Shanghai.

Mr. Xu Ren Deputy Director

Mr. Xu Ren, born in Zhejiang in 1964, graduated from Ocean University of China in Marine Animals.Mr. Xu is a member of the Communist Party of China.

He is currently the deputy director and the leader of engineering technology of PRIC.

Dr. Liu Shunlin Deputy Director

Dr. Liu Shunlin, born in Jiangsu in 1968, graduated from Wuhan University. Dr. Yang is a member of the Communist Party of China. Dr. Liu has served as an associate researcher and director of the Science and Technology Development Department, and has long been engaged in polar expedition, scientific research and management. He is the leader of the 27th Antarctic scientific expedition team in China. He has participated in the capacity building of the Antarctic “Tenth Five-Year Plan” and the planning and organization of the project of the Chinese Antarctic Inland Science Research Station. He has completed the National 863 Key Project and the National Natural Science Foundation. Dr. Liu has won the scientific and technological progress award for scientific research achievements at the provincial and ministerial levels for many times, and the second class award.

He is currently the deputy director and researcher of PRIC.

Mr. Zhu Jiangang Deputy Director

Mr. Zhu Jiangang, born in Jiangsu in 1961, graduated from Shanghai University of Technology in computer applications. Mr. Zhu is a member of the Communist Party of China. He worked as an engineer of Shanghai First People's Hospital, and join PRIC in 1992. He has served as the director of the Information Center of PRIC,the director of the Office, and the assistant director of PRIC. Mr. Zhu has presided over several scientific research projects, and was the deputy leader of the 28th Chinese Antarctic Scientific Expedition Team and the leader of the 9th Chinese Arctic Scientific Expedition Team.

Mr. Zhu is now the deputy secretary of the Party Committee of PRIC, secretary of the Disciplinary Committee, and leader of engineering technology.

Dr. Sun Bo Deputy Director

Dr. Sun Bo, born in Shaanxi in 1965, graduated fromCold and Arid Regions Environmental and Engineering Research Institute Chinese Academy of Sciences inPhysical Geography. Dr. Sun is a member of the Communist Party of China. He has served as Director of Polar Oceanography Research Laboratory and Polar Glaciology Research Office, Assistant Director of Research Center, Captain of China Inland Ice Sheet Inspection Team; he was the Station Director of China Antarctic Kunlun Station, and Deputy Leader of China Antarctic Expedition Team. He is a member of the International Antarctic Scientific Committee (SCAR) Antarctic and Climate Environmental Assessment Program (ACCE) expert group, a member of the International Antarctic and Southern Ocean Horizon Scanning Program Expert Group, and a member of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has been engaged in polar and climate change research and polar site visits and technology research and development for many years. Dr. Sun has won the title of "Outstanding Youth" by the State Oceanic Administration, the second prize of "Liu Enlan Youth Science and Technology Award", 2 times of the first prize of the Ocean Innovation Achievement Award, the second prize of the Ocean Innovation Achievement Award, the second-class award and the third-class award.

He is currently the deputy director and researcher of PRIC.
